Game Preview: Rangers travel to Brantford on Wednesday to face the Bulldogs
Brantford, Ont. – The Rangers travel to Brantford to take on the Bulldogs at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Complex for the first of two games this preseason. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
Head-to-Head: Kitchener holds the advantage over Brantford posting a 7-5-0-0 record dating back to January 2016. The Rangers are coming off a 5-3 win against the Generals in their first preseason game, while Brantford has two preseason games under their belt with one win and one loss.
Scouting the Rangers: Matthew Sop led the Rangers in their first preseason game tallying three points (1G, 2A). The Blueshirts 2023, OHL Priority Selection, first-round pick, defenseman Cameron Reid collected two points (2A) in his first OHL preseason appearance. Veteran, Trent Swick also found himself on the scoresheet twice with a goal and an assist in Sunday’s win.
Scouting the Bulldogs: Brantford returns their 2022-23 leading goal scorer (37G, 28A) who was Chicago Blackhawks 2023 third-round draft pick, Nick Lardis. Blueliner Jorian Donovan also returns who had 45 points (12G, 33A) in 55 games last season. Bulldogs’ veteran, Lawson Sherk scored two goals in the club’s second preseason game of the season against Saginaw.
Next Up: The Rangers return home this Friday, September 8th to face Brantford in the second game of a home-and-home series with the Bulldogs. Opening Night:
The Rangers drop the puck on the regular season Friday, September 29 when the East Avenue Blue host the Saginaw Spirit. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Individual tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online here.
