FINAL: Rangers 4, Attack 3
The Rangers welcomed The Owen Sound Attack to The Aud for the second time this season on Friday night. Francesco Pinelli and Simon Motew returned to the lineup after being injured, and Carson Rehkopf returned after being away at the Capital City Challenge in Ottawa this past week. Carson put up two goals and one assist during the tournament, and helped Team Canada Red to a silver medal.
Declan McDonnell scores 5 minutes into the first period (assisted by Joseph Serpa, and #46 Simon Motew). Ethan Burroughs scores for Owen Sound, and we leave the first with the score tied.
A feisty game at The Aud continued in the second. Thomas Chafe scores for The Attack, but Mike Petizian scores shorthanded for the Rangers to tie the game once again. The game had over 30 minutes in penalties just in the first two periods of play, and The Rangers started on the penalty kill for the 3rd period.
The Attack took advantage of the extra man and scored just one minute into the period, but The Rangers didn’t let that affect them, as Reid Valade responded quickly after. Carson Rehkopf gets the game-winning goal, and the Rangers win 4-3.
