FINAL: Rangers 3, Knights 4
The 2022 playoffs shifted to Kitchener as the Rangers welcomed The London Knights to The Aud for game 3. Both teams were looking to grab the 2-1 series lead.
Off an early powerplay, London’s Tye McSorley scored to go ahead 1-0 only 1:13 into the game. Luke Evangelista added another powerplay goal for London, extending their lead to 2-0. The Rangers then had their chance on the powerplay, where Mike Petizian tapped in a shot past Brett Brochu. London answered immediately, chasing Pavel Cajan from the net and putting themselves up 3-1. Jackson Parsons came in for relief of Pavel Cajan seven minutes into the game. Off a beautiful point shot from Roman Schmidt, Joseph Serpa tipped it past Brochu to make it 3-2.
The Rangers generated non-stop pressure on the Knights defense but London struck first in the 2nd period. Tye McSorley scored his 2nd of the game to make it 4-2. The Rangers continued to press on in the period but could not put one past Brochu in the period. They looked to get some more past him in the 3rd.
Mike Petizian beat Brochu on a wrap-around to bring the Rangers within one, making it 4-3 with just over 11 minutes remaining in the game. The Rangers had multiple chances to tie the game up but could not solve Brochu again.
With the win, London takes a 2-1 series lead heading into game 4.
