FINAL: Rangers 2, Knights 5
The Kitchener Rangers once again were in London to take on the Knights in game two of the 2022 playoffs. The Rangers looked to head home with a 2-0 series lead.
The Knights came out hard, pressuring the Rangers hard but Pavel Cajan brought his A-game. After off-setting penalties, London’s Cody Morgan opened the scoring 4-on-4 to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. Just after, London’s Antonio Stranges capitalized again to make it 2-0. Pavel Cajan was big for the Rangers in the 1st period, keeping the game close heading into the 2nd.
21 seconds into the middle frame, London’s Gerard Keane snuck a flukey goal past Cajan to extend their lead to 3-0. The Rangers generated some scoring chances, looking to get on the board but could not beat Brett Brochu. The Rangers would look to solve him in the 3rd period.
Despite some early chances by the Rangers, London’s Oliver Bonk found the back of the net, making it 4-0. With seven minutes remaining in the game, Adrian Misaljevic snapped a shot past Brochu to make it 4-1. Just after, Mike Petizian went top shelf with a backhand which made it 4-2. London would score late on a powerplay which gave them the 5-2 win.
The series is tied 1-1 heading back to Kitchener.
