570 News and the Kitchener Rangers announce a new five year broadcast deal!
570 News and the Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club are excited to announce a new five year broadcast deal running through the 2015/2016 season.
This new deal coincides with the kick off of the 2010/2011 season this Friday, September 24th as Mike Farwell, the new colour commentator for the Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club joins the legendary Don Cameron, now in his 44th season of play-by-play for the Rangers Hockey Club.
“For the last 15 years, 570 News has valued our partnership with the Kitchener Rangers. The Rangers are Waterloo Region’s premiere sports and entertainment franchise and we look forward to expanding our coverage of the team in the coming five years”, says Mike Collins, General Manager, 570 News.
570 News is also thrilled to announce that they have expanded the very popular post game “call-in” show with Mike Farwell, originally scheduled every Friday home game, will now be heard after every Kitchener Rangers home game.
“There are still some teams in our league that are trying to get all their games on radio. For us, it’s on the dial where people can find it and that’s great for our fans”, says Steve Bienkowski, Chief Operating Officer, Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club.
Don and Mike’s debut will be at the Rangers 48th season home opener on Friday, September 24th, when Kitchener plays host to the Saginaw Spirit.
