Cam Gauvreau Commits to UOttawa Gee-Gees
The UOttawa Gee-Gees announced today that the Men’s Hockey Program has received a commitment from Petes defenceman Cam Gauvreau. Gauvreau will join the team ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Gauvreau, a defenceman from Hamilton, ON, was originally acquired by the Petes from the Saginaw Spirit on January 10, 2023. After being acquired by Peterborough, he appeared in 29 games in 2023, picking up four assists. Gauvreau then featured in 19 playoff games, tallying three assists and helping the Petes win the 2023 OHL Championship and a berth in the 2023 Memorial Cup. This season, Cam was named an Alternate Captain of the team and skated in 57 games, scoring a career high three goals and 12 assists for 15 points.
Originally selected by the North Bay Battalion in the 10th round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, Gauvreau has played in 158 career games in three seasons between the Battalion, Spirit, and Petes. In his OHL career, the 6’1 defenceman has four goals and 24 assists for 28 points, while also picking up 197 PIMS.
