Petes Shutout in Nation’s Capital

On Wednesday, February 12, the Peterborough Petes were in the Nation’s Capital for a weeknight battle with the Ottawa 67’s. The Petes would be looking for a crucial win that would bring them three points away from the final playoff spot in the East. It was the first game back for Edmonton Oilers prospect Brady Stonhouse, who returned to Ottawa for the first time since being acquired by the Petes from the 67’s in January. Petes defenceman Grayden Strohack hit a career milestone in the game, skating in his 100th OHL matchup.
It just wasn’t the Petes night, as all the bounces seemed to be going Ottawa’s way. The 67’s would strike twice in the second period and once with a man advantage in the third to take a 3-0 lead late. Despite outshooting the 67’s 29-23 in the game, Peterborough would not be able to solve Collin MacKenzie, with the OA goaltender leading the Ottawa to a shutout win on home ice.
Zach Bowen led the way for the Petes, stopping 20/23 in the loss.
