2022 Petes Training Camp Day One Wrap-Up: Fitness Tests
Peterborough Petes 2022 Training Camp presented by Pat McCauley, East Side Mario’s and Hybrid Sports kicked off on Tuesday, August 30 at the Hybrid Sports facility on Chemong Road in Peterborough with introductions, medicals and fitness testing.
Players and families first attended an orientation session led by GM Michael Oke including special introductions from team support staff including Jack Veitch (Mental Health Coach), Luke Bentvelzen (OHL Onside facilitator and KSAC Liaison), Dave Jones (Team Chaplain), and Walter DiClemente (Security, Risk Management & Billet Liaison).
During the fitness testing portion of Training Camp Day One, 2023 NHL Draft prospects Nick Lardis, Justin DeZoete and Donovan McCoy stood out alongside existing NHL prospects J.R. Avon and Chase Stillman. The top performing Petes in each fitness category were as follows:
