Bowen Stops 33/36 in Road Loss to Colts
On March 23, the Peterborough Petes began their final road trip of the regular season in Barrie for a Saturday night matchup with the Barrie Colts. The Petes would be looking to grab a win back from the Colts, after dropping a heart breaker in OT at the PMC in the two teams only other matchup this season. Zach Bowen would get his second straight start for the Petes, looking for his ninth win of the season.
The Petes penalty kill was the star of the show early, killing off three penalties (including a five on three) before the 10 minute mark. The PK did their best to get the offence going, with multiple shorthanded scoring chances, but they would be unable to beat Barrie goaltender Sam Hillebrandt. At the 10:15 mark of the first, Peterborough would get on the board to take the lead on the road. Aiden Young scored his third of the season, slapping home a beautiful pass from Braydon McCallum to put the Petes up 1-0. Rookie forward Joseph Cadorin picked up his first career assist on the goal.

Unfortunately for the Petes, penalties caught up to them late in the period. On a Barrie power play, Bode Stewart scored with just 26 seconds remaining in the first to tie the game heading into the break.
The second period would be all Zach Bowen. Bowen stopped all 12 Colts shots in the period to keep the game tied going into the final frame. Bowen’s big period was capped off by a huge breakaway save on Colts leading scorer Beau Jelsma.

After a hard fought two periods, the Colts would take over in the third. Barrie scored three goals (including an empty netter) to win the game by a score of 4-1.
Zach Bowen led the way for the Petes, stopping 33/36 in the loss. Aiden Young scored his third of the season, while Braydon McCallum picked up an assist. Joseph Cadorin also picked up his first career OHL assist on the goal.
