2023 Petes Training Camp Day 4 Wrap Up: Maroon vs White Game and Player Reassignments
Peterborough Petes 2023 Training Camp presented by Sign-A-Fied, East Side Mario’s and Hybrid Sports wrapped up on Friday, September 1 with the annual Maroon and White Game. Following the game, eight players were reassigned.
In the game, Team Maroon skated to a 6-3 victory, led by Sam Mayer (3G, 2A) and Brennan Othmann (1G, 4A) who both had five points each. Quinton Pagé and Cam Gauvreau also scored for Maroon, while Jax Dubois, Zack Lewis, and Nathan Leek picked up an assist. Tucker Robertson (2G) and Joseph Cadorin scored for White. Connor Lockhart and Konnor Smith both had assists. 2023 Playoff MVP Michael Simpson was unbeatable in net for Maroon, shutting out Team White during his 30 minutes of play.
After the Maroon and White Game, the following players were reassigned:

- Josh Hutton
- Taylor Bothwell
- Declan Bowmaster
- Reid Forster
- Lucas Tuin
“All of these players performed well at camp,”noted Petes General Manager Michael Oke. “We were very Impressed with the improvement we’ve seen and we’ll continue to monitor their development for future opportunities here in Peterborough.”
The Petes are in action for their first game of the OHL Preseason on Saturday, September 2 when they travel to St. Catharines to take on the Niagara IceDogs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Meridian Centre. Fans can follow along on the Petes Twitter account.
