WEEKEND PREVIEW: Out and Back
ERIE, Pa. — The Erie Otters are back on the road to start the weekend. Following the annual eastern swing road trip, the Otters will look to get back in the win column against two tough opponents, one in-division and one Eastern Conference foe.
The Otters will begin the weekend with their first trip of the year to Canada Life Place in London to take on the Knights. Erie will then return home for their first home game of the month to take on the Sudbury Wolves.

LAST TIME OUT
Erie would begin their visit to Eastern Ontario with a stop in Peterborough to take on the Petes. The Otters would start the game strong and get a big offensive boost with Dylan Edwards and Alex Misiak each netting their first goals of the season, and in the case of Misiak, the first of his OHL career. The game would require a shootout as both Gabriel Frasca and Mclean Agrette would bury their chances, Noah Erliden would stop both attempts he would face, and Erie would escape the Peterborough Memorial Centre with a hard-fought two points winning 3-2 in a shootout. Erliden would steal the show with 43 saves in the winning effort.
Following an off-day Friday, the Otters would make their lone trip to Canada’s capital of Ottawa and TD Place to battle a red-hot and undefeated 67’s club. Erie would stand tall in the first period but be un-done in the second as the barber poles would out-shoot the Otters 27-4 in the frame and gain a 3-0 lead. In the third, forward Cooper Foster would capture a hattrick. Erie would get on the board with Gabriel Frasca finding the back of the net but that would not be enough as the Otters would fall 4-1. Otters goaltender Noah Erliden would steal the show, making 54 saves in the losing effort.
The road trip and the weekend would wrap-up on Sunday with the Otters heading to Kingston for their lone visit of the season to Slush Puppie Place. The Otters would look sharp but be unable to find the back of the net in a defensive battle. Charlie Burns would play an outstanding game for the Otters but it would not be enough as Gavin Betts would pitch a shutout for the Fronts and they would steal victory by a final score of 1-0.
SWEET THEMES
The Otters will kick off the weekend in London as they renew the Sweet Caroline Rivalry with the London Knights. Saturday, the Otters are back to the Erie Insurance Arena as they welcome in the Sudbury Wolves for the first and only time this season.
WHO TO WATCH
Goaltending has been a major point of emphasis for the Otters this season and this weekend showed that Noah Erliden is every bit the elite goaltender he has been billed as. Erliden made 97 saves combined between the two games he started in Ottawa and Peterborough and will look to bring that momentum into a big weekend against a divisional foe and one from up-north.
Alex Misiak is coming off of his first OHL goal for the Otters and has points in three of his last five games. The forward is looking more and more comfortable with each game and is hoping this will translate to a big weekend offensively. Now with a goal and a few points under his belt, look for number 88 to shine for the Otters this weekend.
KNOW THE FOE
The Knights enter the weekend feeling much better about themselves than the last time these two teams met on September 27. Coming off of back-to-back wins, their first two wins of the young season, the Knights are back on track and are hoping to build off of their recent success. Offensively, it has been defenseman Jared Wooley leading the way. Against Erie on September 27, he scored twice in the Knights’ defeat. Rivalry games bring out the best in both teams, expect no-different on Friday.
It has been a very slow start for the Sudbury Wolves coming into 2025-26. Heading into their three-in-three weekend where Erie is the second stop, they have yet to collect their first victory and have only accumulated one point on the young season. The Wolves have scored the fewest goals in the OHL so far this year, entering the weekend with eight. Defensively, they have allowed the third-most goals at 29. This will be a very hungry young Wolves team looking to start moving in the right direction.
