THREE STARS: One Last Time for November
Erie, Pennsylvania – A two-game week at Erie turned into one game after an unexpected weather postponement, but there was no shortage of talent on the ice.
On Wednesday against the Owen Sound Attack, teddy bears swarmed the ice and the Otters forced overtime to ensure a point. The Otters fell 3-2 less than two minutes into the extra period in their final game in November.
Here are the players who made this week possible.
THIRD STAR – CAREY TERRANCE
The captain came up big when we needed him to.
On a power play opportunity, it would be Carey Terrance to set up Gabriel Frasca to tie the game at 2-2. Terrance’s assist would be crucial to forcing extra time as it would be the only goal in the second frame and the last goal of regulation.
SECOND STAR – MARTIN MISIAK
Let it rain, Martin Misiak!
On our annual Teddy Bear Toss, it was Martin Misiak to open the floodgates. Misiak found his eighth of the season just under halfway into the first period to tie the game up 1-1. As the puck hit the back of the net, stuffed animals littered the ice in Erie’s 16th annual Teddy Bear Toss.
FIRST STAR – GABRIEL FRASCA
The man of the night for Erie would be Gabriel Frasca!
With a critical power play goal in the second period to tie the game, Frasca earned Three Star honors.
Frasca’s goal would be the difference maker in walking away with nothing and walking away with a point after an overtime loss against the Attack.
The Otters will kick off December with three games in four days! They will travel to North Bay to face the Battalion on Thursday and immediately travel to play the Sudbury Wolves on Friday. Erie will rest briefly before returning to business on Sunday against the Brampton Steelheads.
