Otters to Select 10th Overall in First Round of 2021 OHL Priority Selection
OTTERS TO PICK 10th OVERALL IN 2021 OHL PRIORITY SELECTION PRESENTED REAL CANADIAN SUPERSTORE
Erie, Pennsylvania – The Ontario Hockey League announced on Wednesday that the Erie Otters will be selecting 10th overall in the 2021 OHL Priority Section presented by Real Canadian Superstore on Friday, June 4, 2021.
For the first time since the implementation of the annual Priority Selection online in 2001, the event will be held over the course of two days, with Rounds 1-3 being held on Friday, June 4 beginning at 7:00 PM. Rounds 4-15 will take place on Saturday, June 5 beginning at 9:00 AM.
“We are thrilled for the opportunity to have the 10th overall selection in this year’s OHL Priority Selection. When looking back on the history, there is a high level of talent drafted in the top 10. Our organization is extremely proud to continue to add to our team’s core this June,” said Assistant General Manager, Scott Grieve.
The Erie Otters have selected 10th overall three times in team history: 2009 selecting David Broll, 2005 selecting Anthony Peluso, and 2000 selecting Brian Lee. The Otters selected defenseman Spencer Sova with their 1st Round Selection, 8th overall, in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.
The Otters have 11 following picks in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore:
- Erie 1st Round Pick (10th overall)
- Sault Ste. Marie’s 2nd Round Pick *
- Erie’s 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th *
- Sarnia’s 13th Round Pick*
- * Final pick number still to be determined.
