Otters Routed 8-1 in London
LONDON, ON – The Erie Otters headed to London Friday night in hopes to end a 12 game win streak carried into the contest by the Knights. London got things going right away with two successful powerplays in the first five minutes, with goals coming from Cole Tymkin and Connor McMichael. Erie forward Alex Gritz responded ten minutes later with a wrist shot to cut the lead to one. This didn’t last long, as Cole Tymkin found the back of the net with his second of the evening.
In the second, Matthew Timms wristed one past Erie goalie Daniel Murphy and extended the London lead to three, and Jacob Golden scored later on to make it 5-1 after two periods of play.
Things kept rolling for London when Connor McMichael scored his second of the game just seconds in the final frame. Josh Nelson added a goal and McMichael completed the hat trick to produce a final score of 8-1 to make it 13 straight for the London Knights.
The Otters will travel to Flint where they will take on the Firebirds Saturday night at 7:00PM.
