Otters Roll Firebirds 9-2 in Flint
FLINT, MI – The Erie Otters started the second half of their season in Flint on Friday night taking on the Firebirds. Riley McCourt wasted no time and scored just two and a half minutes in for Flint, but Max Golod and Chad Yetman found the back of the net for Erie to put the Otters ahead 2-1 heading into the second.
Erie continued to add goals in the second period, with a goal coming from Danial Singer which was followed by two consecutive tallies from Erie captain Kyle Maksimovich to extend their lead to 5-1.
In the third, Max Golod and Kyle Maksimovich added goals for Erie, with Eric Uba to make it 7-3. Erie found additional scoring from Elias Cohen and Danial D’Amato to roll the Firebirds with a final score of 9-2.
Kyle Maksimovich’s three goals and one assist elevated him to 9th all-time in goals and 5th all time in points in Otters franchise history.
Daniel D’Amato’s goal was the first of his Ontario Hockey League career.
The Otters will head to Saginaw where they will take on the Spirit tomorrow night at 7:05PM.
