NWPA AHEC WEEKEND PREVIEW: Home Sweet Three-Game Homestand
Erie, Pennsylvania – After a grueling week on the road, the Erie Otters finally return to play three games this week in front of a home crowd.
On Wednesday, the Otters will duke it out with the Brampton Steelheads for the final time at home with a 7 P.M. puck drop. They’ll have a day of rest on Thursday before jumping back in with back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and the Kitchener Rangers.

LAST TIME OUT
The Otters swung west last week and walked away with three points in three games.
Against the Soo Greyhounds, the Otters battled in overtime before falling 4-3 to scrap together one point in the contest. The Otters bounced back with a 7-5 victory over the Saginaw Spirit before finishing out the week with a 2-1 loss to the Flint Firebirds.
This weekend represented the final road games against all three foes.
A TRIO OF A TIME
Wednesday night represents the first of four Wednesday home games this season, and the start of a five-game homestand.
Friday night will be our fan-favorite 3-2-1 Night! While watching the Otters battle the Soo Greyhounds for the second week in a row, enjoy $3 Labatt Blue Lights, $2 hot dogs, and $1 popcorn from the time doors open until the start of the third period! College students, don’t forget about our College BOGO offer – valid to all students with a valid ID.
On Saturday night, the Otters will be hosting the third-annual Children’s Grief Awareness Night (pres. by Highmark Caring Place) to recognize those on their journey through grief. The Otters will take the ice wearing specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off post-game to benefit Highmark Caring Place, and we ask fans to come wearing their baby blue to show your support. This is an incredibly impactful night, and our organization is humbled once again to stand alongside our grieving community for the game.
WHO TO WATCH
Oh Captain, Our Captain! Carey Terrance put on a clinic last week with four goals and two assists! Terrance picked up an assist in the first and last game of the week but found the most success against the Saginaw Spirit with a commanding four-goal performance to earn First Star honors on the night – and CHL First Star honors as well.
With three goals and two assists on the week, Dylan Edwards is a player you can’t take your eyes off of. An Edwards goal against the Soo Greyhounds helped make sure the Otters walked away with a point in their OT loss, but it was the two assists and lone goal against the Saginaw Spirit that reminded fans just who they were dealing with. Edwards also had the only Otters goal against the Flint Firebirds in their 2-1 loss.
KNOW THE FOE
The Brampton Steelheads split their last two games, finding themselves on both sides of a 5-3 result. Against the Barrie Colts, the Steelheads saw out a victory before finding themselves on the other end against the Brantford Bulldogs the very next day. Players to watch for the Steelheads include Carson Rehkopf, who picked up five points (3G+2A), and Luke Misa, with two assists and two goals in last week’s games.
The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds forced two overtime wins last week, once against the Otters and another against the Windsor Spitfires. In between grinding out extra frames, the Soo fell 3-2 to the Flint Firebirds Players to watch for the Greyhounds include Brady Martin, who picked up a hat-trick against the Otters, and Brady Smith, with one goal and two assists in his last three games.
The Kitchener Rangers beat the Peterborough Petes 4-1 on Friday and shut the Sarnia Sting out 5-0 on Saturday. Players to watch for the Rangers include goaltender Jackson Parsons, who shut out the Sting with 20 saves and held the Petes to one goal off of 24 attempts, and Luke Ellinas, with two goals on Friday and another one on Saturday.
