LAST TIME OUT
Erie started their week with a big road win over the Niagara IceDogs. Their 5-4 come-from-behind win snapped a four-game losing streak.
Back at home, the Otters fell 6-3 to the Flint Firebirds before bouncing back with a dominant 7-2 victory over the Peterborough Petes.
AROUND THE ARENA
Friday is Erie’s Women’s Empowerment Night! As the city of Erie uplifts and celebrates the next generation of women professionals, there will be a Women’s Vendor Fair around the concourse, and on the ice the Otters will don specialty themed “Women’s Empowerment” warm-up jerseys. Proceeds from the post-game jersey auction will benefit Erie Women’s Empowerment. Not only will we have specialty jerseys and a vendor fair, but it’s 3-2-1 Friday as well! Enjoy $3 Labatt Blue drafts, $2 hotdogs, and $1 popcorn.
On Saturday, it’s Kids Takeover! The kids of Erie and surrounding counties will be the star of the night, taking over jobs from coaching duties to broadcasting responsibilities! expERIEnce Children’s Museum will be bringing out Mobile Museums for a night of education and entertainment for our youngest fans!
WHO TO WATCH
Martin Misiak was instrumental in the Otters’ victories last week. With a two-goal performance on the road to help outpace the Niagara IceDogs, an assist against the Firebirds, and three points in the form of one goal and two assists against the Petes, Misiak put up a commanding six-point showing.
The assistant captain, Malcolm Spence, had himself a weekend with three goals and one assist! Spence’s first goal came against the Flint Firebirds to cut their lead down to 5-3. Against the Peterborough Petes, Spence was just one goal shy of a hat trick with back-to-back goals in the second period, as well as an assist early in the first.
KNOW THE FOE
The Owen Sound Attack defeated the Kitchener Rangers 3-2 in a shootout after dropping to the London Knights on Friday with a 9-1 final score. Players to watch for the Petes include the defensemen Max Bleicher, who picked up his second goal of the season against the Kitchener Rangers, and Pierce Mbuyi, with an assist on the Attack’s only goal against the London Knights.
