LAST TIME OUT
The Otters started their week off strong with an OT victory against the Owen Sound Attack. Just over a minute into extra periods, the Otters found the back of the net for a 4-3 win.
Against the London Knights on Friday, the Otters fell 4-2 before finishing their week on Saturday and also falling in a 4-1 decision against the Sarnia Sting.
AROUND THE ARENA
Tuesday morning will be Erie’s School Day Game! Students can learn away from school with the help of Erie’s Education Packets, and everyone can watch the Otters school the Guelph Storm.
On Saturday, the Otters will celebrate a very special birthday boy – none other than Otto the Otter! We invited all of Otto’s mascot friends to celebrate with us – beware of mascot insanity! – but the greatest gift of all will be Otters Nation cheering us on as we try and get a birthday victory!
WHO TO WATCH
Quinn McCall picked up his very first OHL goal on Friday against the London Knights! With one goal now and five assists and the season beginning to dwindle, there’s no doubt that McCall will look to pad his stats just a little more.
Martin Misiak has played the hero in the last two Otters overtimes. Two weeks ago against the Niagara IceDogs, it was Misiak to win it in a shootout, and against the Owen Sound Attack it would be Misiak again with a two-goal performance, including the game-winner.
KNOW THE FOE
The Guelph Storm lost both of last week’s games, dropping 4-3 to both the Sarnia Sting and the Ottawa 67’s. Players to watch for the Storm include Jett Luchanko, with two assists against the Sting and two goals against the 67’s, and Lev Katzin, with one goal and two assists on the weekend.
The Brampton Steelheads lost two of the week’s three games. Players to watch for the Steelheads include Porter Martone, who grabbed three assists and one goal across three games, and Luke Misa, who had a two-goal performance at home against the Peterborough Petes.
The Sudbury Wolves split their last weekend, defeating the North Bay Battalion 8-3 before losing to the Brantford Bulldogs 9-3. Players to watch for the Wolves include Nathan Villeneuve, with three goals and one assist on the week, and a familiar face, Ondrej Molnar, who opened the scoring for the Wolves victory over the Battalion.
