London Scores Four In The Second Period, Erie Falls 4-0
Erie, Pennsylvania – The Erie Otters were shutout 4-0 by the London Knights after allowing four goals in the second period at the Erie Insurance Arena Sunday afternoon.
Erie recorded 10 shots through the first period and Daniel Murphy stopped all 15 of London’s shots to keep the game scoreless after 20 minutes of play.
Antonio Stranges opened the game’s scoring less than four minutes into the second period with a breakaway goal. Billy Moskal and Jonathan Gruden scored London’s second and third goals in a span of 45 seconds to make the score 3-0. Liam Foudy spread the Erie deficit to four goals at the 10:31 mark of the middle frame to complete the London flurry. Murphy was replaced by Aidan Campbell, who made one save before the second period concluded.
Campbell saved the five shots he faced in the third period, and London goaltender Dylan Myskiw made 11 saves in the third to secure his shutout.
The 4-0 loss ended Erie’s eight-game point streak. The Otters will continue their homestand at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, when they host the Kitchener Rangers in their annual Thanksgiving game at the Erie Insurance Arena.
