LONDON, ON – Rangers snap Knights win streak at 5 in OT thriller
London and Kitchener faced-off Sunday afternoon for their second clash of the week against the Rangers.
Tensions from Friday’s 6-1 victory over Kitchener spilled over into the first period of today’s game, as 2025 NHL first round draft picks Henry Brzustewicz (London) and Cameron Reid (Kitchener) dropped the gloves 17 seconds into the opening frame.
Kitchener would take the lead in the first, courtesy of Kaden Schneider’s first career OHL to put the Rangers up 1-0 through 20.
The Knights responded in the second, as Henry Brzustewicz scored his 4th of the season on the powerplay to tie the game at 1-1.
London struck again in the third, as Kaeden Hawkins redirected a Julian Brown point shot to give them the lead, before Kitchener’s Weston Cameron tied the game at 2-2 on his first goal in the Ontario Hockey League, sending the game to overtime
In the extra frame, Ranger’s goalie Christian Kirsch shut the door on an Evan Van Gorp effort, before Kitchener defenseman Jakub Chromiak scored the winner.
The Knights will host the 67’s on Friday night.
