LONDON, ON – KNIGHTS DISMANTLE PETES SCORING 10
London jumped out to an early lead just 89 seconds into the opening frame, thanks to Ryan Brown’s sixth goal in his last four games. Before the halfway mark of the first, London doubled its lead, as Jaxon Cover came streaking down the ice to bury his 12th of the season.
Peterborough responded before the end of the first, as a Brennan Faulkner point shot found its way past Aleksei Medvedev. But two minutes later, London restored its two goal lead, as Braidy Wassilyn tallied his 14th of the season from the slot.
The Knights came out flying in the second, with Henry Brzustewicz kicking the scoring off with a point shot, followed by Jaxon Cover burying on a rebound goal. After taking a 5-1 lead, London chased Petes goaltender Easton Rye from the game, with Mason Jonhston coming in relief.
London wasn’t done yet. Evan Van Gorp jumped in on the scoring, before Braidy Wassilyn grabbed his 2nd of the game and Jaxon Cover netted his third for his first OHL hat trick.
The final frame saw more of the same, with Jesse Nurmi grabbing London’s ninth of the game less than 2 minutes into the period.
Peterborough answered, with Leon Kolarik scoring on the powerplay, before Rene Van Bommel tallied London’s 10th goal of the game, solidifying London’s comfortable 10-2 victory.
The Knights will look to go three for three on their current homestand when they take on the North Bay Battalion at 7:00 on Friday.
