Knights Welcome Draft Class of 2025
The busiest time of the year saw the Knights select 16 players, headlined by first rounder Alex Campeau in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
With the final pick in the first round the Knights looked east to draft centre Alex Campeau from the Eastern Ontario Wild U16 AAA. The 6’4, 172 lb forward from Vankleek Hill, ON recorded 32 points in 32 games this season.
Campeau, the tallest player selected in the first round plays a similar game to a current London Knight that has made history multiple times throughout his tenure. “I really model my game after Easton Cowan. I look up to him and he’s a role model for me. I watch a lot of video on him and how he shoots the puck and stuff.”
At just 16 years old, OHL director of central scouting, Darrell Woodley mentioned Campeau still has plenty of room to grow physically.
In the second round the Knights looked to bolster their blue line and fill a need with key departures like Oliver Bonk soon to move to pro hockey. Associate General Manager called Cooper McAslan of the Ajax-Pickering Raiders.
McAslan is determined to play a certain style of game that Knights fans will be sure to enjoy. “I like to bring the physicality out there.. get in other players heads.”
The Knights made two selections in the third round, beginning with local product Owen Miniotas from the Elgin Middlesex Canucks. “Mitch Marner, he was my favorite player by far. To see him on the Knights.. winning that Memorial Cup was just a dream come true.”
Miniotas instantly knew he wanted to be in the same position as the heroes he grew up watching. “At that moment, I just fell in love with hockey. The London Knights are one of the biggest reasons I love hockey this much.”
Miniotas had immense success this season with 35 goals and 78 points in 64 games in Alliance this season.
Day One capped off with the London Knights looking as far away as France, selecting forward Eloan Le Gallic from the Vaughan Kings. Born in Quebec City, the Le Gallic family hails from France but Eloan grew up in Quebec before moving to Ontario at a young age.
The Knights have had success in recent years drafting from the Vaughan Kings, selecting Edmonton Oilers prospect Sam O’Reilly and top NHL prospect Aleksei Medvedev. Le Gallic transferred over to the Kings and playing with Huron Perth in prior years, recording 31 points in 33 games.
Rounds 4-15 saw the Knights welcome twelve more prospects to the Knights organization, highlighted by five selections in the fifth and sixth round. These prospects will begin their journey with mini-camp just weeks away where they’ll have their first chance to make an impression.
The Knights would also like to congratulate London Jr. Knight David Heath on being selected in the tenth round, 198th overall by the Kingston Frontenacs.
