HIGHLIGHTS | Knights vs Battalion | 10/02
The London Knights secured their fourth straight victory with a 4-1 win against the North
Bay battalion Friday night.
The first period was heavy hitting, but neither team managed to break through in the opening
frame, sending the Knights and Battalion into the second period scoreless.
It took nearly half the game for someone to change that.
Marcus Nordmark, who recently returned from Anaheim Ducks’ training camp, opened the
scoring with his first goal of the season, and his first career OHL goal.
The Battalion’s Evgeny Dubrovtsev managed to even the score, entering the third tied 1-1.
Less than a minute into the period, North Bay slipped up on a defensive change and gave
Thomas Zocco an opening, putting London back in the lead with the momentum they needed.
Jaxon Cover got a goal in his first game back from Ottawa Senators camp, joining Nordmark with
another first of the season. If Friday night was any indication, both first-rounders are going to be
standout players for this Knights group.
North Bay grew desperate in the final five minutes, pulling their goaltender in an attempt to
claw their way back into the game. But London held firm, and Cohen Bidgood sealed the deal
with an empty-net goal to make it 4-1.
While the offence clearly delivered, Aleksei Medvedev in goal was a clear difference-maker,
stopping 38 of 39 shots and earning First Star honours for his performance.
The Knights look to continue this remarkable start to the season, facing the Flint Firebirds at
home on Sunday, October 4.
See you there, Knights fans!
