DICKINSON, TESTA SELECTED TO CANADA’S U-17 WORLD HOCKEY CHALLENGE ROSTER
After a weekend of recording their first career points and goals, Sam Dickinson and Luca Testa received the news that they will be representing their country at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge.
The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge is the first step in Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence – including three Canadian teams and five international entries in a tournament that showcases of the future stars of the game. Seven teams will compete in this year’s tournament: Team Canada Black (#2 Sam Dickinson), Team Canada Red, Team Canada White (#23, Luca Testa), Czechia, Finland, Sweden and the United States. Each team will play six preliminary-round games between November 3 and 11, with the top four teams in the standings advancing to the medal round.
Dickinson, the 4th overall pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection was considered the best defenceman in the OHL draft and proved it at the U-17 development camp in the summer. Testa was the Knights 1st round selection at 15th overall, also proving it at summer development camp, scoring a hat-trick in his first game.
Both Dickinson and Testa are off to hot starts in the OHL careers, both earning their first career points just 5 games in and earning themselves a chance to represent their country.
The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge will kick off November 5-12.
