DICKINSON, O’REILLY NAMED TO PRELIMINARY NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING
NHL Central Scouting has released the first central scouting list of the season with the preliminary players to watch list.
Dickinson earned an A rating after a strong rookie season in 2022-23 and picked up where he left off this season. Dickinson has opened the 2023-24 season with 10 points in 11 games, tied with Flyers first round selection Oliver Bonk for team high in defenceman.
O’Reilly opens the season with a C rating after a strong start to his rookie season in the OHL. O’Reilly has been a standout in the Knights lineup in the early portion of the season, recording 7 points in 11 games. O’Reilly played his 2022-23 season with the London Nationals where he scored 25 goals and 63 points in 35 games.
The players on the preliminary list with A ratings are considered potential first-round picks. Players with B ratings are considered possible second- or third-round choices, players with C ratings are potential fourth- or fifth-round picks, and those with W ratings indicate a “watch” player for potential sixth- or seventh-round consideration, and first-time draft eligible “work in progress” players with a limited scouting history and games played.
