Ten IceDogs Invited to NHL Camps
With the NHL season right around the corner, 10 Niagara IceDogs players have been invited to attend NHL training camps.
Of those 10 players, five were selected in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft this summer. First round pick Brendan Perlini will be going to the Arizona Coyotes camp, Blake Siebenaler will be going to Columbus, Ryan Mantha will be going to the New York Rangers camp, while Brent Moran and Aaron Haydon will be off to Dallas.
Captain Luke Mercer (St. Louis Blues), Cody Caron (Chicago Blackhawks), overager Cody Payne (Florida Panthers), Anthony DiFruscia (San Jose Sharks) and Carter Verhaeghe (Toronto Maple Leafs) will also be at NHL camps.
The IceDogs exhibition schedule continues without these players, as they face the Kitchener Rangers Sept. 12 in Beamsville before wrapping up the preseason against the Windsor Spitfires Sept. 16 in Thorold.
Congratulations to all 10 players invited and good luck at your respective camps!
