Sunday Afternoon matchup between Central Division foes

NIAGARA, ON – The IceDogs were back on home ice to wrap up their three home games this week by welcoming in the Barrie Colts, a longtime Central Division rival. The visitors would outduel Niagara on this day as a flurry of goals in the middle period put the game out of reach.

Starting Goaltenders: Josh Rosenzweig (NIAG), Ben West (BAR)

The IceDogs and Colts went most of the opening period scoreless until Barrie captain Brandt Clarke wristed one past Rosenzweig to take the lead while being mobbed by his teammates for now being the franchise leader in points for the team. Rosenzweig stopped 17 of 18 shots in the opening period.

To open period two the Colts would add another as Jelsma put in the loose puck, extending the visitors lead. Barrie would extend their lead on the man advantage in the ladder part of the middle period and add a trio of goals, before Daniel Michaud got the IceDogs on the board with his 21^st of the season.

Barrie would add two more goals with Jacob LeBlanc scoring his 2^nd goal of the season in a flurry of goals by both sides. The visitors went into the room with a six-goal advantage after two periods. A flurry of 8 goals were scored in the final six minutes of the period.

Both teams would change their goalies coming out of the room. Barrie scored a quick goal once again before Declan Waddick got the IceDogs third goal with his 22^nd of the season. The visiting Colts would take this matinee by a 9-3 score.

Alex Assadourian would add one more for the IceDogs on a late 5on3 for his 11^th goal of the season. The Colts would take this one 9-4 at the Meridian Centre. The IceDogs will wrap up their four game homestand next Friday when the Peterborough Petes come to Niagara.
