Ryan Roobroeck and Kevin He Recognized in 2023-2024 OHL Coaches Poll
NIAGARA, ON – The results of the annual OHL coaches poll have been revealed and two IceDogs players have been recognized.
Ryan Roobroeck was recognized in the Eastern Conference “Best Shot” category, finishing tied for second with the OHL’s leading goal scorer in Anthony Romani. Roobroeck’s 28 goals were good for second in rookie scoring, only behind Barrie Colts’ rookie, Riley Patterson who amassed 29 goals. However, among 2007 born rookies, Roobroeck doubled the next closest tally as Greyhounds rookie, Travis Hayes scored 14 times.

Kevin He was recognized in the Eastern Conference “Best Skater” category, finishing third behind Beau Jelsma and Paul Ludwinski of the Barrie Colts and Kingston Frontenacs respectively. Kevin He’s skating has long been a strength of his and a draw for NHL scouts as Director of NHL Central Scouting, Dan Marr mentions, “He’s got that quickness and acceleration to pull away with the puck,” Marr said. “And then he’s also got that recovery speed. He can be that first forward back. Skating and hockey sense are his two strongest assets”.
