Otters Outscore IceDogs
NIAGARA, ON – The Niagara IceDogs dropped a 9-3 decision to the Erie Otters Thursday night at Meridian Centre.
The visitors opened the scoring 1:38 into the game, before Andrei Loshko tied things with his ninth goal of the season for Niagara.
Erie would then score six unanswered goals in the second period enroute to a 9-3 final.
Matthew Virgilio with his second goal of the campaign, and Rafek Dianov with his first of the season also found the back of the net for the IceDogs.
Nick Frasca would assist on Virgilio’s tally for his first career Ontario Hockey League point, while Hayden Jeffery made his OHL debut between the pipes replacing starter Owen Flores in the second period.
Niagara welcomes the Sarnia Sting Friday night where they’ll be wearing specialty 80’s jerseys that will be auctioned off online – all in support of Community Care St. Catharines and Thorold.
And before the game the team will honour former St. Catharines major junior players, Hockey Hall of Famer, Marcel Dionne along with Brian Cullen in a special banner raising ceremony.
Tickets are available through the Niagara IceDogs or Meridian Centre Box Office.
