IceDogs Top Greyhounds with Pair of Hat-tricks
By ROD MAWHOOD
The Niagara IceDogs got back on the winning track with an impressive 7-2 win over the visiting Soo Greyhounds Thursday night.
Niagara opened a 4-0 first period lead and never looked back as both Andrei Loshko and Mike Levin notched hat-tricks.
Levin, after being named the game’s first star, was concentrating more on the team than scoring his first career three-goal game.
“I feel good, but getting a win for the team was more important,” Levin said.
The Tel Aviv native also added an assist and now has six goals on the season.
Meanwhile Loshko’s hat-trick gave him twelve tallies on the campaign.
Ethan Czata, Ryan Roobroeck and Ivan Galiyanov also all had three point games, while Owen Flores made 43 saves and chipped in with an assist himself.
Niagara continues its three games in three nights with a visit to Brampton Friday night, followed by a home game Saturday against Sudbury in the annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
Tickets are available through the IceDogs and Meridian Centre Box Office.
