IceDogs Stumble Against Steelheads on Family Day
BRAMPTON, ON – The Niagara IceDogs fell to (27-20-3-4) on the season, after a 6-0 loss to the Brampton Steelheads on Family Day.
A positive note to the afternoon was goaltender Matthew Humphries providing the IceDogs with 44 saves in a busy afternoon in net for the 2008-born Newmarket, Ontario native.
However, the IceDogs did not get out to the best start this afternoon, giving up three first period goals in just over ten minutes of play.
The second period saw both teams battling hard for the next goal – sensing that it would be a turning point in the game. Unfortunately for Niagara, that goal did not come for them, as Brampton scored late into the second frame to make it a 4-0 game.
The IceDogs definitely gave it their all on Family Day, though it was simply not enough – as by the time the final buzzer sounded, the score ended 6-0 Brampton.
The IceDogs will look to rebound this Friday, February 21st, on the road against the Ottawa 67’s at TD Place at 7:00 PM.
