IceDogs Beat by Bulldogs
BRANTFORD, ON – The Niagara IceDogs fell to (26-15-2-1) on the season, after a 6-2 loss against the Brantford Bulldogs on Wednesday night.
The IceDogs were playing from behind early tonight, as the Bulldogs opened the scoring to put themselves up 1-0 just three minutes into regulation.
Both teams came out of the gates throwing the body around with physical plays from both sides.
This physical play eventually reached a climax only four minutes into the contest with Niagara’s Blair Scott and Brantford’s Lucas Moore dropping the gloves for a good old-fashioned tilt.
The second period did not fare much better for the IceDogs, as unfortunately, four goals in the second frame gave the Bulldogs a commanding 5-0 lead headed into the third.
Another early third-period Brantford goal gave them a 6-0 lead, which was simply salt in the wound by that point.
Niagara did claw back two late goals – one from Jack Brauti and the other from Ethan Czata for his 17th marker on the campaign to cut the lead to 6-2 late in the final frame. However, it was much too little too late for the IceDogs by that point.
The IceDogs are back in action on Friday, January 24th against the Erie Otters at Erie Insurance Arena at 7:00 pm.
