Van Vliet is a 6’3, 200 lbs left-shot defenceman from Toronto ON, who was originally drafted by the Bulldogs 66th overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection who quickly established himself as a key asset on the blueline.
In the 2021-2022 season, Van Vliet played a crucial role in the defensive core, helping the Bulldogs secure the J. Ross Robertson Cup as an OHL champion alongside of a Memorial Cup.
Following his 36 game run with the Bulldogs, the Sudbury Wolves acquired Van Vliet in January, who went on to play an additional 32 games and continued to showcase his defensive prowess and reliability.
