Colts Corral IceDogs
NIAGARA, ON -The Niagara IceDogs dropped a 7-3 decision to the visiting Barrie Colts Friday night at Meridian Centre.
Niagara never led in this game, trailing 1-0 early, and 3-1 in the second period before tying things 3-3 after 40 minutes.
The Colts would score four goals in less than six minutes to open the final frame and seal the deal.
“Barrie was good, but we beat ourselves tonight,” explained IceDogs Head Coach Ben Boudreau.
“Terrible special teams. We lost the physical battle, on the puck and at the net. Our depth upfront was being tested tonight and we didn’t pass the test.”
Mason Wray, Ryan Roobroeck on the powerplay, and Andrew Wycisk with a goal of the night candidate found the back of the net for Niagara.
Wycisk took a thunderous hit at the offensive blueline, but got right up, skated down the right side of the boards, and went short-side top shelf to tie the game at three.
The IceDogs will look to rebound Sunday at home against the visiting Sudbury Wolves in a 2pm puck drop.
Tickets are available through the Niagara IceDogs or Meridian Centre Box Office.
