The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is proud and privileged to be the main tenant at the beautiful, eighteen-year old GFL Memorial Gardens.
Located in the heart of downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario – the GFL Memorial Gardens is one of the newest facilities in the entire Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Prior to the 2021-22 season, the Soo Greyhounds purchased a brand new state-of-the-art OES scoreboard while the City of Sault Ste. Marie invested significantly as well to install brand new LED lighting, new acryllic glass, acryllic posts and soft cap system on the rinkboards.
The total investments totalled over $2 million dollars.
Boasting a capacity of 4,928 – the Greyhounds hold one of the league’s highest capacity rates and boast one of the highest, loyal and passionate season ticket holders bases.
The building is home to all of the team’s staff (administration and hockey operations) along with the world-class facilities the players use on a daily basis.
With an emphasis on establishing an NHL environment, the hockey club created an unmatched dressing room for the player’s use. Featuring individual player stalls, instant video replay capabilities, complete weight training equipment (bikes, free weights), athletic therapy equipment and equipment repairs in-house.
The team can take care of all the player’s needs big or small.
In order to achieve the best, you have to be able to train, and prepare to be the best, and with the facilities the Soo Greyhounds have put in place it has made that goal easier for our players to accomplish.
