Hunter Solomon commits to Greyhounds
SAULT STE. MARIE, ON-
Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced today that another member of the 2023 draft class has committed to the Program.
Fourth-round selection (65th overall) Hunter Solomon has signed an OHL scholarship and development agreement with the club.
“We’re excited to have Hunter commit to our program. Hunter’s a hard-nosed defender who can jumpstart the offense on transition. This was something that really stood out to us during his impressive performance at camp” began Raftis.
He added, “We are looking forward to working with him on his development as a strong defender that can play at both ends of the ice for the Hounds in the future.”
Solomom, a native of Guelph ON, has already appeared in 2 games with the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins of the GOJHL in 2023-24.
The 6.00, 170-lb defender played one season ago with the Waterloo Wolves U16 AAA club where he recorded 8 goals and 11 assists (19 points) in 32 regular season games played.
He added 4 points (1G, 3A) in 11 post-season contests.
“I’m honoured and excited to have signed with an amazing organization and a great group of guys. I’d like to thank my parents, coaches and teammates for helping me get this far” said Hunter.
Solomon is with the team as they travel to Sudbury today for their second exhibition game of the year.
Game time is 7:05 PM from Sudbury Community Arena.
