McConnell-Barker signs entry-level deal with Rangers
The NHL’s New York Rangers announced this afternoon that they have signed Greyhounds’ forward and Captain Bryce McConnell-Barker to a three-year, entry-level contract.
McConnell-Barker, a native of London ON, is in his second season with the Greyhounds.
Originally selected in the 1st Round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, McConnell-Barker is the Hounds leading scorer this season averaging over a point-per-game.
In 66 regular season games played he has 29 goals and 45 assists, good for 74 points. Additionally he has a team leading 13 power play goals.
League-wide Bryce’s 51.5% face-off percentage is third best in the OHL.
He was previously selected in the 3rd Round of the 2022 NHL Draft by New York.

New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Bryce McConnell-Barker on a three-year, entry-level contract beginning with the 2023-24 season.
McConnell-Barker, 18, captains the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he leads the team with 74 points and 45 assists while ranking second in goals (29) through 66 games. He was also named OHL Player of the Week ending January 8 after recording eight points (4G-4A) in three games.
In two seasons with the Greyhounds, the London, Ontario native has compiled 52 goals and 71 assists for 123 points in 134 games. Last season, he recorded 49 points (23G-26A) in 68 games, earning Soo’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ award.
McConnell-Barker was selected by the Rangers in the third round, 97th overall, of the 2022 NHL Draft.
