Boyes named Hounds’ new Equipment Manager
The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club announced today the hiring of MICHAEL BOYES as the team’s new Equipment Manager.
Boyes, who has spent the past nine seasons as Assistant Equipment Manager with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals, takes over immediately in his new position.
“Michael is highly regarded around the OHL and Hockey Canada and we feel fortunate to be able to add someone with his experience, professionalism and passion, to our organization” stated Greyhounds’ Head Coach Sheldon Keefe.
The Whitby, ON native has extensive experience outside of the OHL including work at the Team Ontario U17 Hockey Challenge, Hockey Canada POE Goaltending Camp, Hockey Canada National U17 Development Camp, Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects Game and ADT Canada/Russia Challenge.
“I’m very excited to be joining such a storied organization in the OHL. It will be an honour to walk into the dressing room every single day. I hope to contribute to the team’s success in the immediate future and for year’s to come” stated Boyes.
He takes over from outgoing Equipment Manager Mac Stewart who recently moved onto the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and was recognized by Keefe for his work with the Hounds.
“We are grateful for the excellent work that Mac did with the Soo Greyhounds and wish him all the best with the Marlies and what will undoubtedly be a long and successful career in professional hockey” concluded Keefe.
