Last season Yingst spent the season playing for the Shady Side Academy Prep in the USHS. Grant suited up in 64 games, collecting 114 points, including 51 goals.<\/p>\n

Yingst is 17-years-old and is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. He is a big body, listed at 6’2″ and 203 pounds.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Oshawa, ON –\u00a0<\/strong>It was announced today that Oshawa Generals Forward Brooks Rogowski has been invited to the Team USA World Junior Summer Showcase.<\/p>\n

Just this past weekend, Brooks was drafted 33rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks. Now, he will get the chance to show off his talents as he looks to earn a spot on the USA World Junior roster.<\/p>\n

Last season, Rogowski played in 46 games for the Generals, where he collected 42 points, including 15 goals. He was also named to the OHL Top Prospects Game in Peterborough.<\/p>\n

This is not his first go-around with USA Hockey, having played on the U18 team that won the 2025 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Oshawa, ON –\u00a0<\/strong> With the first overall selection in the 2026 CHL Import Draft, the Oshawa Generals have selected Matyas Michalek from HC Sparta Praha U17.<\/p>\n

Michalek from Praha, CZE, is a 2010 birth year and spent last season playing in an age group up. In 30 games with the U17 team, Michalek tallied 39 points, including 13 goals. He also played in 18 games at the U20 level, collecting 8 points.<\/p>\n

“Matyas is a player that we have targeted with the ability to draft 2010-born players in the CHL Import Draft,” said Oshawa Generals GM Roger Hunt. “Our scouts have seen him live at the U17 Challenge, The Five Nations in Plymouth, and the U18 World Championship. They have gone through hours of video and have continued to reach the same conclusion. We feel as though he is the best player of the 2010 age group internationally.”<\/p>\n

Michalek has quite the reputation to his name, with some saying that he is a future number one pick in the NHL.<\/p>\n

“We want Matyas to be part of something special that we are building back in Oshawa,” stated Hunt<\/p>\n

Michalek will be joining a young Generals team that also selected first in the OHL Priority Selection Draft, where they selected Kane Cloutier, two players who could be pillars for the Gens to build around in the near future.<\/p>\n

Rogowski had a productive season, finishing his draft year with 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points in just 46 games.<\/p>\n

Brooks is a player that will bring a lot of size to the Vancouver Canucks organization, being listed at 6’7 236 pounds. Rogowski has shown that he is not afraid to use that size, whether it be on the rush, the forecheck or if the gloves need to come off.<\/p>\n

The Brighton, Michigan Native is going into his third season with the Generals. He has also featured for USA Hockey at the U18 World Championship.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Oshawa, ON – <\/strong>It is day one of the 2026 NHL Priority Selection Draft, featuring the first round of this year’s draft.<\/p>\n

The Generals finished with six players ranked on the NHL Central Scouting Rankings, with Brooks Rogowski topping the Generals players with a final ranking of 21, giving himself a chance to go in the first round.<\/p>\n

Oshawa had four others in the rankings, including Aiden O’Donnell at 118, Brady Murnane at 141, Leo Laschon at 175, Colin Feeley at 202 and Matthew Humphries, who was ranked 23 amongst North American goalies.<\/p>\n

The NHL draft kicks off tonight at 7 PM with round one and will continue on Saturday with rounds 2-7 kicking off at 11 AM.<\/p>\n

Costello was selected in the 11th round of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft by the Generals and spent last season playing for the Woodbridge Wolfpack, where he played 34 games, picking up 16 points.<\/p>\n

Cody, a native of Sewell, New Jersey, has a future commitment to play at the University of New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Oshawa, ON –\u00a0<\/strong> It is NHL Draft week as a handful of Generals, including Brooks Rogowski, gear up for this year’s NHL Draft in Buffalo.<\/p>\n

Rogowski is expected to go the highest of the Generals at this year’s draft, but the Generals finished the season with six members being ranked on the final NHL Central Rankings.<\/p>\n

Last season Rogo finished with a career high in points, goals, and assists, collecting 42 points, including 15 goals. This past season, Brooks was named to the CHL and OHL top prospects team, missing the CHL event due to an injury.<\/p>\n

The next highest ranked General was Aiden O’Donnell, who finished at a ranking of 118, last season O’Donnell was acquired from the Brantford in a trade that sent Ben Danford and Zack Sandhu to the Bulldogs. Aiden finished last season with 25 points in 45 games, scoring 11 times.<\/p>\n

Oshawa had three defencemen on the NHL Central Scouting list, including Brady Murnane at 141, Leo Laschon at 175 and Colin Feeley at 202. Each played their first season in the OHL last year, and both Murnane and Lachon were named to the OHL East Top Prospects team.<\/p>\n

Closing out the Generals players named to the NHL Central Scouting list was goaltender Matthew Humphries, who joined the Generals part way through the season after being picked up in a trade with the Niagara Icedogs. Since he has joined the Generals, Humphries has posted an .888 SV% and a 3.73 GAA in 24 games.<\/p>\n

Early on, Team White struck first with Xavier Rowe, the Generals\u2019 13th-round selection in 2025, finding the back of the net with Tucker Lyndaker and Dunbar drawing assists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Team Red would respond with this year\u2019s eighth-round choice Ratmir Shalapayev netting the equalizer set up by Yingst and Cava. Before the first half ended, Team White went back in front with first overall selection Kane Cloutier finishing Mark Pape\u2019s feed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the start of the second half, Team Red once again got it tied thanks to Porter Matchett, the Generals\u2019 120th selection in this year\u2019s priority selection, who was set up by Tyler Hinde and Jack Burleigh.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After that, Team White took over with two quick ones. The first came off the stick of this year\u2019s second-round selection, Jakub Kuklinski, and he also followed up with an assist on the fourth goal from Lyndaker. Anthony Timmerman also drew an assist on White\u2019s fourth tally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To ice the game, Cloutier and Pape connected again after teaming up for the second White goal. Pape, who was acquired by the Generals from the Guelph Storm in a trade earlier this offseason, took Cloutier\u2019s feed and hit the empty net.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
