TRADE: Oshawa Generals acquire Tyler O’Toole from Sarnia for an 8th round pick in 2025
Oshawa, Ont. – The Oshawa Generals have added some physicality to their defensive lineup with the acquisition of Tyler O’Toole from the Sarnia Sting. O’Toole, a 6’2 defenceman from Mississauga, brings a robust presence to the Generals’ blue line.
During the 2023/24 season, he made eight appearances for the Sting after being called up from the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Mississauga Chargers due to injuries within Sarnia’s roster. His performance in those games showcased his potential and ability to contribute at a higher level.
Drafted in the 10th round, 188th overall, in 2022, O’Toole’s physical style of play and his size will likely make him a valuable asset to the Generals’ defensive end. Oshawa secured O’Toole in exchange for their eighth-round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
Fans can look forward to seeing O’Toole wearing #23 in a Generals jersey as he aims to make an impact in his new team.
