Round 1 Game 3: Generals approach Barrie to gain lead in series
Oshawa, Ont. – The Oshawa Generals are heading to Colts Country for the next two games, game three and game four, of the Round One series. Right now the series is tied 1-1 after a weekend at home for the Generals.
First seed versus eighth and the Colts came in hungry and eager to prove that they’re not easy competition. Barrie came in ready to win last Friday at the TCC, where they took down the Gens 4-2 and snapped the team’s 12-game win streak. Beckett Sennecke and Dylan Roobroeck each had a goal in the loss while Calum Ritchie picked up an assist on each goal. It was Jacob Oster in net for this one and the Gens netminder stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced. As for the Colts, it was Shamar Moses, Cole Beaudoin, Zach Wigle, and captain Beau Jelsma sending the team to victory.
The Generals entered their second game with the mission to bounce back after game one, and they surely did, taking the game 5-4. Matthew Buckley had a big game, earning himself the first star and scoring a pair of goals on one shift, while Oster stopped 24 of 28 shots. Riley Patterson earned a pair of goals, while Jelsma and Bode Stewart pushed the score to four.
Tonight’s game is at the Sadlon Arena, where the Generals have not been successful this season. With a four-game season series, the two games spent in Barrie, the Colts took over the Generals. Tonight the Generals hope to change that narrative as they approach the tied series.
