Oshawa enters Sudbury red hot looking for ninth win in a row
Oshawa, Ont. – The Oshawa Generals are coming in red hot to the Sudbury Community Arena after winning eight games in a row, looking to extend the streak to nine.
The Generals enter tonight’s game first in the East Division and the Eastern Conference. The Generals have looked unstoppable lately, only losing one game in the last 10. The boys took down the Mississauga Steelheads 2-1 in overtime last Tuesday, where Luca Marrelli and Dylan Roobroeck propelled them to victory while Jacob Oster stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced. The Generals are led by Colorado Avalanche prospect Cal Ritchie with 73 points and New York Rangers prospect Roobroeck with 63 points, who earned himself CHL Player of the Week last week.
With their second last regular season home game at the Den, the Wolves are coming in tonight hungry for victory. Sudbury has won only two of their five games in March, despite a goal average of five per game. Last week Wolves’ Dalibor Dvorsky picked up 7 points in 3 games, including a 5-point performance last Friday against the Spitfires. Quentin Musty continues to showcase his talents as well with a 6-point performance, including a hat trick and the overtime winner. Captain David Goyette picked up 3 assists in 3 games, to reach the 100-point mark on the season.
The beginning of the month is when Oshawa and Sudbury last met and the Generals took the game 6-2. Four Generals picked up multiple points including Roobroeck and Beckett Sennecke who both had a goal and a pair of assists, while Oster stopped 21 of 23 shots on his way to the win.
