Home-and-home with Ottawa turns to Tribute Communities Centre
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals return to the Tribute Communities Centre as they face the Ottawa 67’s for the second time in as many nights.
It is Military Appreciation Night as the Generals seek revenge for last night’s loss in Ottawa. The Gens had their two-game winning streak snapped but are returning home where the team has a 6-3 record.
Ottawa comes into this game riding a three-game win streak and sit in second place in the East Division with a 9-4-1-0 record for 19 points just one off first place.
Last Meeting
The last meeting for these two was the last game each team played. The Generals went into the Capital and got sent home with a 4-1 loss.
It was Noah Bender’s second start of the season and after Matthew Buckley scored his team-leading ninth goal on a one-timer things were looking good.
But after Ottawa tied the game at one with just over a minute and a half less in the first period the 67’s would go on to score three more unanswered to snap the Gens mini two-game win streak.
Player to Watch (Oshawa)
Connor Lockhart: The newest Oshawa Generals player had a debut to remember finding his way onto the score sheet four times with a goal and three assists. The over ager from Kanata has 11 points in nine games to start the season and looks to build on what seems to have been a smooth transition into the team.
Player to Watch (Ottawa)
Luca Pinelli: With 14 goals and 19 points so far this season the centre from Stoney Creek leads his team in both categories and is tied for second in the league’s goal race. The Columbus Blue Jackets prospect has been able to find the back of the net whether it’s even strength or on the power play.
