Experience Returning to Kingston as Frontenacs Look to Take Next Step

Kingston, ON - As the Kingston Frontenacs prepare to open the 2026-27 OHL season, a familiar group will once again be wearing the black and gold and leading the way for a young roster looking to grow and develop together. The foundation of the Frontenacs roster will be built around a group of returning players who have already experienced the demands of major junior hockey and have played significant roles for the team. Leading that veteran group will be the Frontenacs’ three overage players: Vann Williamson, Landon Wright and Tomas Pobezal. Williamson returns for his overage season after serving as one of Kingston’s key leaders on the blue line. A veteran of nearly 200 OHL games, Williamson has steadily developed into one of the Frontenacs’ most reliable defenders while providing experience and leadership to a young Kingston roster. In 2025-26, he recorded 34 assists and 38 points while finishing among the team leaders in power-play assists. Now entering his final OHL season and his first full season as captain of the team, Williamson will be counted on to provide stability on defence and leadership away from the scoresheet. Up front, Landon Wright returns for another season in Kingston after an impressive 2025-26 campaign. Wright finished second on the Frontenacs in scoring with 44 points, including a team-leading 18 goals, while also contributing five game-winning goals. His ability to contribute in key moments will be particularly valuable for a team looking to take another step forward. Joining Williamson and Wright as the Frontenacs’ third overage player is Tomas Pobezal. The Slovak forward was one of Kingston’s most productive offensive players last season, finishing with 17 goals and 38 points. He also led the team with seven power-play goals and added a shorthanded marker. Together, Williamson, Wright and Pobezal provide Kingston with three players who have experienced the ups and downs of an OHL season and understand what it takes to compete when the stakes rise. The experience continues between the pipes, where Matthew Minchak returns to Kingston to join forces with Gavin Betts to form one of the best, if not the best, tandem in the league. Minchak, who enjoyed a breakout debut season in 2025-26 and was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2026 NHL Draft, gives the Frontenacs an experienced option in net. He will form a goaltending tandem with Betts, who emerged as one of Kingston’s biggest stories during the second half of last season. The duo gives the Frontenacs two goaltenders who have already demonstrated an ability to handle OHL action and provide their team with a chance to win on any given night. For a young team, having that level of experience in the crease can be invaluable. Beyond the overage trio and the crease, Kingston will also return a pair of 2007-born players who are poised to take on even larger roles. André Mondoux returns to the Frontenacs after a strong 2025-26 campaign. The defenceman finished the season with a team-best plus-19 rating and led Kingston in penalty minutes, establishing himself as a physical presence capable of playing important minutes. Mondoux should see himself as an anchor on the penalty kill and be out on the ice defending a lead in late game scenarios. Mondoux also enters the season with a new addition on his resume after being selected by the New York Rangers in the sixth round, 162nd overall, at the 2026 NHL Draft. Meanwhile, Alex Misiak returns after putting together a strong offensive season of his own. Misiak recorded 38 points in 2025-26, including seven power-play goals, and finished third on the team with 26 assists. After arriving to Kingston at the OHL trade deadline from Erie, Misiak joined fellow countryman Tomas Pobezal on the Frontenacs' top line and never looked back as he got better and better as the season went along. His offensive instincts and special-teams ability give Kingston another important weapon as the Frontenacs look to improve their production throughout the lineup. For a team welcoming a new group of players, familiarity can be one of its greatest advantages. Williamson, Wright and Pobezal have the distinction of being Kingston’s three overage players, but the Frontenacs’ core extends well beyond those three. Minchak, Mondoux, and Misiak all enter the new season with significant OHL experience and an understanding of what is expected in Kingston, being able to lead the young core of Frontenacs like Aleks Kulemin, Matt Henderson, Nolan Snyder, and Gavin Betts to new heights in 2026-27.

Preseason Tickets on Sale Now for August 30th on home ice

Kingston, ON – The Kingston Frontenacs are happy to announce that tickets for our lone home game in our preseason schedule are on sale now.

The preseason opens on Sunday, August 30th, as the Frontenacs welcome the Ottawa 67’s to Slush Puppie Place with puck drop scheduled for 2:00PM. The remaining of the Frontenacs preseason schedule takes place on the road with stops in Cornwall on Friday, September 4th and in Newmarket on Saturday, September 12th.

Tickets are general admission and are $18 for adults and $15 for kids (12 and under). Season Ticket Members can access our game on Sunday, August 30th at Slush Puppie Place for free as a perk of being members of the Fronts Family. For fans who are not Season Ticket Members, head to The Fronts Shop to get your tickets now. Additionally, tickets will be for sale on the day of the game starting at 12:00PM inside of Gate 4 at Slush Puppie Place.

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs have announced that their preseason game against the Sudbury Wolves originally scheduled for Sunday, September 13th at 4:00PM in Stouffville, ON has moved and been rescheduled.

The Frontenacs will now face the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday, September 12th at 5:00PM at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex in Newmarket, ON.

Kingston Frontenacs Announce 2026 Training Camp Roster

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs have announced their roster for the 2026 Training Camp presented by Scotiabank as the team prepares for the upcoming OHL season. The 2026 Training Camp roster features a mix of experienced OHL talent, the organization's top young prospects and some free agent invites; providing players with an opportunity to compete for roster spots and establish themselves ahead of the regular season. A majority of the Frontenacs' roster from last season returns, including captain Vann Williamson, imports Tomas Pobezal and Alex Misiak, as well as young and emerging stars Aleks Kulemin, Matt Henderson, Nolan Snyder, and Gavin Betts. Also among returning players are recent NHL draft picks Andre Mondoux and Matt Minchak. 2026 OHL Priority Selection choices Logan Prud'homme, Roman Vanacker, Shane Roche and Gavin Godick will be attending their first OHL training camp. With a new season ahead, the Frontenacs will look to use training camp to re-establish their identity, evaluate the roster and prepare for the challenges of the 2026-27 OHL season. Frontenacs announce pair of Season Ticket Member Events ahead of 2026-27 Season

Kingston, ON – The Kingston Frontenacs are happy to announce the dates of our annual Season Ticket Member BBQ, as well as a brand new Season Ticket Member exclusive event, the Frontenacs Town Hall. Our Season Ticket Member BBQ will take place on Wednesday, September 2nd from 5:00-6:30PM. This gives our loyal and dedicated Season Ticket Members the first chance to meet this year's team and get autographs from the entire roster. The Season Ticket Member BBQ is currently planned to take place on King Street in between Slush Puppie Place and Food Basics; with weather contingency plans in place for the event to take place inside of Slush Puppie Place. The first ever Frontenacs Town Hall will take place on Monday, September 14th from 5:00-6:00PM inside of Slush Puppie Place. The Town Hall will feature General Manager Kory Cooper and Head Coach Troy Mann taking questions from Season Ticket Members and local media; as well as the very first look at our new alternate jerseys. Due to capacity limitations, our Frontenacs Town Hall will be first come, first serve through a registration form that will be sent out in the coming days. Frontenacs announce 2026 Training Camp Details

Kingston, ON – The Kingston Frontenacs are happy to announce the dates for 2026 Training Camp presented by Scotiabank, officially kicking off the new calendar year of the OHL season. Training Camp will take place from August 26-28th at Slush Puppie Place. The team will be undergoing pre-season off-ice performance testing throughout camp as well as on-ice practices and drills. These events will be closed to the public. However, Frontenacs fans will be able to attend four scrimmages throughout the course of Training Camp. The Training Camp roster will be divided into three teams, Team Black, Team Grey and Team Gold, that will compete in a series of games against each other during the camp. On Friday, the three teams will be split up into two teams and compete in a full scrimmage to close out camp. The full 2026 training camp roster will be revealed ahead of the start of camp. Matthew Frost departs to Newfoundland Regiment of the QMJHL

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs have announced today that overage forward Matthew Frost has been invited to Newfoundland Regiment (QMJHL) training camp ahead fo the 2026-27 season. Frost, who turns 20 on September 11th, joined the Frontenacs for the 2025-26 season. Originally selected by the Frontenacs in the 10th round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, the Orleans, ON native made his mark in his first season in Kingston, recording 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 64 regular-season games, having a monstrous second-half of the season. He added one goal and one assist in four playoff games.

The left-shot forward also recorded four game-winning goals and five power-play goals during the regular season, showcasing his offensive ability and versatility throughout the campaign.

Frost originally joined the Frontenacs after spending the 2024-25 season with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the BCHL, where he recorded 9 goals and 11 assists in 28 games. Kingston signed Frost to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement in June 2025.

Three Frontenacs Earn Medals at 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup

Edmonton, Alta - Three Kingston Frontenacs teammates found themselves competing for gold at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, with Aleks Kulemin and Matt Henderson helping Team Canada capture the championship while Frontenacs forward Nolan Snyder earned a silver medal with Team USA.

Canada entered the medal round after completing preliminary play with a perfect 3-0 record, earning victories over Switzerland, Slovakia and Sweden. The Canadians then defeated Finland 6-3 in Friday’s semifinal to advance to Saturday’s gold medal game against the defending champion United States.

Team USA also entered the championship game undefeated, setting up a gold medal showdown that featured all three Frontenacs representatives.Kulemin and Henderson ultimately helped Canada secure the gold medal, while Snyder concluded an impressive tournament with a silver medal representing the United States.

After earning bronze at the 2025 tournament, Canada returned to the top of the podium in 2026. The victory marked Canada’s fourth gold medal in the past five Hlinka Gretzky Cup tournaments and its 14th gold medal over the last 18 editions of the event.

Seven different CHL teams sent a trio of players to the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, but the Frontenacs are the only trio that came home with medals. The Kingston Frontenacs are proud to congratulate Kulemin, Henderson and Snyder on representing their respective countries on the international stage and returning home with medals from the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

Frontenacs add to Hockey Operations Staff ahead of 2026-27 Season

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs have announced changes within the organization's Hockey Operations department. Following Ryan Lennon's departure to the Wilkes/Barre-Scranton Penguins (AHL), Colin Johnson has been named Coordinator of Hockey Operations & Video Coach. Johnson joins the Frontenacs organization from the Soo Greyhounds where he served as the club's Director of Analytics and Video Analyst for the past two seasons. Prior to the Greyhounds, Johnson interned with the Hockey Operations departments of the St. Louis Blues (NHL) and Prince George Cougars (WHL). Also joining the Frontenacs is Brad Francis, who has been named the Assistant Equipment Manager of the club. Francis rejoins the organization after previously serving as a Game Day Intern on the equipment staff. The Kingston Frontenacs season begins on September 17th with a visit to Peterborough for a match up with the Petes. The Home Opener takes place on Sunday, September 20th against the division rival Ottawa 67's. Game time at Slush Puppie Place is 3:05PM with our annual Home Opener Tailgate Party kicking things off at 12PM on The Tragically Hip Way. Tickets are available here.
