Performer of the Week: Linus Hemström
After a busy four-game week that saw the Frontenacs go 2-2-0-0, it was Linus Hemström who emerged as our Performer of the Week. The talented Swedish import forward led the team in points (5), assists (3), shots on goal (17), and +/- (+4). Throughout the four games, Linus tallied 2 goals, 3 assists, and 5 points. This is the third time this season that Hemström has been named the Performer of the Week. He also took home the honours in week 8 and 11.
Hemström’s week started off on a high note in Oshawa on Tuesday, February 6th, against the Generals. He secured the game-winning goal for the Frontenacs on the power play with under 3:30 minutes to go in the third period, helping Kingston earn a 6-4 win over their rivals.
The Frontenacs were back in action on Friday, February 9th, at Leon’s Centre against the Kitchener Rangers. Linus scored the opening goal to spark Kingston’s 5-4 win. He also picked up the primary assist on Jacob Battaglia’s third-period power-play goal.
Hemström capped off his weekend points with a pair of assists against the Barrie Colts on Saturday night. Although the Frontenacs made a late charge in the game, the clocks hit zero and the final score read 4-3 Barrie.
Linus Hemström and his teammates will be back in action on Wednesday night in Ottawa when they take on the 67’s.
