Kingston struggles in first trip to Brantford
Brantford, ON- The Frontenacs hit the road for the second game of the weekend, heading down the 401, through the Greater Toronto Area and stopping in Brantford for a date with the Bulldogs at the TD Civic Centre.
It was not the start the Frontenacs wanted on Saturday. Bulldogs forward Jack Torr started an onslaught of goals for Brantford. Scoring five times in the first period, the Bulldogs took a commanding lead into the intermission. Ty Robar would help the Frontenacs take a little momentum into the locker room. In his first game of the season, he would spin and fire his first goal of the year past Bulldogs goalie Chase Petrova.
It was a better second period for the Frontenacs. Matthew Minchak settled down Kingston defensively, and offensively it was Alex McLean who got it started for the Frontenacs. His third of the season cut the lead to 5-2, and moments later it was Adam Goljer scoring his first goal as a Frontenac. Bulldogs would strike once at the end of the period, Kingston trailed 6-3 heading into the third.
In the third period, the Bulldogs took over once again. Scoring four more times in the final frame. Nolan Buttar would add a goal for the Frontenacs, his second in as many nights. 10-4, the Bulldogs beat the Frontenacs Saturday night.
Kingston now finishes their weekend in Kitchener to take on the Rangers before returning to Slush Puppie Place for Y2K night.
