Promotions: Firebirds Home for Two this Friday & Saturday
Flint, Mich. – The Firebirds are coming off a 7-1 victory against the Kingston Frontenacs and now return home for the holidays for two games beginning this Friday, Dec. 28 and Saturday Dec. 29. Puck drop for both contests is slated for 7 p.m. (ET) at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center.
Friday, the Firebirds host the Erie Otters for another ‘4 Pack Friday,’ featuring (4) tickets, (4) hot dogs and (4) soft drinks, starting at just $60.
Saturday, the Firebirds welcome the Windsor Spitfires for the Firebirds’ inaugural Superhero Night.
The Flint Firebirds are accepting submissions from fans to recognize local superheroes prior to the Firebirds’ Superhero Night on Saturday, Dec. 29.
“Superheroes are not just in movies or on TV,” said Flint Firebirds Director of Ticketing Mary Nagy. “There are real-life superheroes walking around our community each day and the Firebirds want to recognize as many of these people as we can during our game on December 29th by posting their stories throughout the concourse for everyone to read. We hope this will encourage everyone to not only look at each other differently but also to look at themselves differently and see what a positive impact each one of us can make in our community.”
Fans can submit both a picture and the story of how their real superhero has impacted their life in a positive way on the Firebirds Facebook wall. If your post gets at least 30 ‘shares,’ your nominated superhero will receive two complimentary tickets to the Dec. 29 game when the Firebirds host the Windsor Spitfires at 7 p.m. (ET). Limited tickets are available while supplies last.
All submissions will be printed off and posted on the concourse walls at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center for fans to read throughout the Firebirds’ game.
Additionally, the Firebirds have launched a superhero cape donation drive to benefit the Flint Firebirds Foundation, which was created to support education, healthy living and youth sports in Genesee County and surrounding areas. Fans are able to donate $1, $5 or $10 to the foundation and in return, they can write their name on a cape of their choice. Those capes will be on display throughout the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center for all fans to recognize.
The deadline for the Firebirds ‘Superhero Contest’ is Thursday, Dec. 27 at 5 p.m. (ET).
Also, bring out your ‘inner Thor’ as all fans will receive thunderstix courtesy of Dort Federal Credit Union. Popular superheroes will also be available for photos and to interact with on the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center concourse throughout the game.
