2021 Import Selection Simon Slavicek Commits to Flint
Flint, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds announced today that forward Simon Slavicek has committed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the club.
“We are very excited to have received a commitment from Simon Slavicek,” President of Hockey Operations Terry Christensen said. “We feel he is going to be a very valuable addition to our lineup.”
Slavicek was the Firebirds’ 1st round (42nd overall) selection in the 2021 CHL Import Draft this past summer. He spent the first half of this season back home in Czechia playing for HC Slavia Praha U20. He produced 13 points (4 G, 9 A) in 14 GP so far.
“I’m really glad to be a part of the Flint Firebirds team,” Slavicek said. “It’s a big challenge for me and I hope that I can bring in the winning spirit.”
The native of Praha, CZE has grown up playing hockey for his hometown team, having spent the last five years apart of the HC Slavia Praha program. Combined across U16, U17 and U20, Slavicek has produced 138 points in 113 GP.
The 6-foot, 170-pound forward is currently ranked 96th overall in FC Hockey’s 2022 NHL Draft prospect rankings. He will wear #10 for the Firebirds.
