Willms, Cameron and Tucker all Commit to Colts
Barrie, ON– Barrie Colts General Manager & Head Scout Jason Ford announced today that three players have committed to the team. Defenceman Christopher Cameron, Tyler Tucker and forward Jason Willms have all signed Ontario Hockey League standard player agreements.
“The Colts organization welcomes these young players into our family,” said General Manager & Head Scout Jason Ford. “All are coming off promising seasons with their respective clubs, and we look forward to continuing their development in Barrie.”
Willms, 17, was drafted by the Barrie Colts in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection in the 3rd round (43rd overall). The five-eleven 185-pound centreman spent last season playing with the Kitchener Dutchmen in the GOJHL scoring 23 goals and 42 points in 50 games played.
The Kitchener, Ontario native was also a member of Team Alliance at the 2015 OHL Gold Cup where he recorded 2 goals and 5 points in 5 games played en route to helping his team earn a Silver Medal.
Cameron, 17, has appeared in 124 games for the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies Under-16 team over the last two season registering 13 goals and 32 points. The Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan native will add some big size to the Colts backend standing at six-foot-four and 225-pounds.
Cameron was drafted by the Colts in the 10th round, (198th overall) at the 2015 OHL Draft.
Lastly, Tucker, 16 was Barrie’s’ 1st round selection (14th overall) at this past 2016 OHL Priority Selection Draft. The six-foot 200-pound defenceman spent last season with the Toronto Titans Minor Midget AAA team scoring 6 goals and 18 points in 39 games played.
The Longloc, Ontario native was a member of Team GTHL Blue at the 2016 OHL Gold Cup earning a Gold Medal, while also recording an assist on the game-winning goal.
Willms and Tucker will be attending Innisdale Secondary School to complete their high school education.
