Colts Host MC Memorial Cup Champs in Home Opener
The Barrie Colts will kick off the 2016-2017 regular season on the road for a two-game road trip. On Friday, September 23rd the Colts will visit the Rogers K-Rock Centre for a 7pm showdown against the Kingston Frontenacs, then will continue to TD Place to take on the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday, September 25th.
Last season, the Colts upset the Frontenacs for their home opener, winning 4-3 in overtime. However, the Frontenacs took the next three games between the two teams, with one of their wins coming in a shootout. The Colts and 67’s split their season series with each team grabbing two wins, including a Colts win on the 67’s home opener.
The Colts return to the BMC on Saturday, October 1st and welcome the MasterCard Memorial Cup champions, London Knights for their 2016-2017 home opener.
The Colts faced the Knights twice last season and fell in both outings.
